Positive news for Ford

When Ford Motor Company announced a nearly $1 billion profit in their 3rd quarter earnings statement Monday, it was as if the nations ears perked up.

Gracing the cover of the New York Times Tuesday, the news became household knowledge.

ABC News reported it had been four years since the North American car and truck division of the company reported a profit, a huge improvement from what Bloomberg reported was a $3 billion pretax loss one year earlier.

The New York Times opened their Tuesday article with how with GM and Chrysler receding from the stigma of their bankruptcies, it may not be easy for Ford to stay on top for long.

But most of the coverage was positive and appeared to have a theme of hope for the nation’s economy.

In recent years, consumers have been watching as American car companies struggle to stay afloat, so the news is encouraging for consumers and Wall Street players alike.

It gives people a good feeling that Ford was able to turn things around on their own, without taking government money, said the Bloomberg article.
