Join Ryan Sweet, senior economist with Moody’s Economy.com, to learn how to create your own economic-data dashboard for your town. Find out which local economic statistics are worth following and what story ideas they might trigger.

Sweet is a member of the U.S. macroeconomics team in West Chester, Penn., and is responsible for forecasting high-frequency economic indicators. Mr. Sweet is also a regular contributor to the Dismal Scientist and Consumer Flow Web sites.

He received his master’s degree in economics from the University of Delaware and his bachelor’s degree in economics from Washington College.

Sweet will be joined by Melissa Preddy who will help brainstorm story ideas and identify resources for local economic stories. Preddy is a former business reporter, editor and columnist for The Detroit News.

Ron Nixon, projects reporter for The New York Times, will help you follow the money coming out of Washington, where he is based.
