A month away, BusinessWeek relaunch is creating some buzz

BusinessWeek covers
The Bloomberg BusinessWeek relaunch is still six weeks away, but it is starting to gain a lot of attention.

MediaWeek talked with ad buyers who have seen a mockup of the new designs:

  • Bloomberg BusinessWeek’s Bullish
  • In what’s being called a “bloggification” of the business magazine, BusinessWeek plans to publish more articles, but shorter ones. MediaWeek’s Lucia Moses says BusinessWeek “will let it fit twice as many stories in 20 percent more edit pages.”

MediaBistro‘s Alex Alvarez writes about how BusinessWeek will add an arts and leisure section.

  • Bloomberg BusinessWeek To Relaunch April 23
  • Alvarez points out that “While Fortune is reducing its production from 25 to 18 issues per year, BusinessWeek will add three additional issues a year (for a total of 50).”

EditorsWebBlog.org says that the redesign includes “a greater focus on personal storytelling and editorials similar to those found in the Economist.”

  • Bloomberg’s new BusinessWeek set for re-launch

  • Bloomberg acquired BusinessWeek, an 80-year-old magazine, in October 2009.
