		<description>Also don&#039;t forget that small companies depend on stable, safe credit and often use credit cards or home-equity loans to fund their businesses. This puts many of them on the same side as consumers who want better financial protection, not the status quo or worse.

In addition to Main Street Alliance, the U.S. Women&#039;s Chamber of Commerce, the American Made Alliance and a growing list of businesses and business organizations have signed a statement in support of a strong and independent Consumer Finance Protection Agency.
