University of Arizona professor David Cuillier stopped in Phoenix to explain how to access public records as part of SPJ's Access Across America tour.

University of Arizona journalism professor David Cuillier offers advice on how to unlock the power of public records. In this video, he provided tips at Arizona State University’s Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication as part of a 45-day tour of the United States called Access Across America. The 2010 training tour is funded by SPJ’s Sigma Delta Chi Foundation, the National Freedom of Information Coalition and the University of Arizona.

You can use his PowerPoint, which is next to the video, to skip to different parts of the lecture.

Cuillier is the co-author with Charles Davis of a new book, “The Art of Access: Strategies for Acquiring Public Records,” and researches the psychology of getting access. He blogs about news and tips on public records. You can reach him by e-mail or at 520-626-9694.
