Hispanic Business Magazine seeks managing, associate editors

Hispanic Business Magazine is seeking a managing editor and an associate editor to work in Santa Barbara, Calif.

The magazine, which has received a Maggie Award for best business/finance magazine, lists a print circulation of 250,000 and Web visits of 1.2 million monthly in its media kit. ”For 30 years, Hispanic Business Media has taken great pride in delivering branded content and economic research to the U.S. Hispanic small business community,” it states. All of the company’s content is in English.

The managing editor’s position requires a bachelor’s degree in journalism and at least five years of experience as an editor and manager at magazines or newspapers.

This person will “help shape content, assign stories, manage editing/writing staff and freelancers, edit articles, do some writing, and manage editorial planning and process,” according to a posting from the company. Experience in developing integrated print and online content is preferred.

The associate editor needs to have a bachelor’s degree and two years of experience. This person will report and write for the magazine and its websites, assign stories, manage freelancers, edit articles and arrange for photos or art. Experience in business journalism is preferred.
