RTDNA is offering a free, hourlong Webinar on May 25 called, “YouTube for Journalists — Finding Newsworthy Video Online.”

Here’s how the organization, also known as the Radio, TV, Digital News Association, describes the Webinar on its website:

“With 35 hours of video uploaded to YouTube every minute, quickly finding compelling, hot or newsworthy content can be difficult.

Using the latest tools that have been developed with journalists in mind, we’ll examine the best techniques for identifying viral, breaking news and locally relevant videos more easily.

In particular, we’ll look at how videos can go viral within specific areas and how you can try to identify those early using YouTube Trends, a site and set of tools recently launched by YouTube’s News and Politics team.

We’ll also cover best practices for contacting YouTube users and for broadcasting YouTube videos.”
