- The first session on tracking the ups and downs in gas prices is a SABEW teletraining call on May 23 moderated by Chris Kahn, energy writer for The Associated Press. Others on the call will be James Coan, research associate for the Energy Forum at the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy at Rice University; Neil Gamson, Energy Information Administration; and Russell Gold, energy writer in The Wall Street Journal’s Houston bureau. The hourlong call at 3 p.m. EDT is free, and you can email in questions, but you must be a member of the Society of American Business Editors and Writers to participate.
- The second session called Getting Ahead of the Food Price Story is a one-hour Webinar on May 26 produced by the Poynter Institute’s NewsU. The instructor will be Chris Roush, business journalism professor at the University of North Carolina. The cost of the Webinar, offered at 2 p.m. EDT, is $27.95.
