Mastering Math to Tell Better Stories: EIJ, Fort Lauderdale, Sept. 21

Too many journalists needlessly fear math — an anxiety that can keep them from effectively tackling the biggest story in the world today: the economy.

Here’s your chance to brush up on basic calculations and learn to judiciously use numbers to tell better stories in text and graphics.

Ron Nixon, domestic correspondent at The New York Times’ Washington bureau, will lead this one-hour breakout session on Sept. 21 at the Excellence in Journalism (EIJ) 2012 Conference in Fort Lauderdale.
