WNYC Radio needs an editor

WNYC Radio is looking for an editor of economic coverage at its headquarters in New York.
The editor would work with journalists, producers and other editors to lead the station's local and national multi-platform coverage of the U.S. economy, business and finance. The editor would be responsible for:
  • Executing multi-platform coverage of business, finance and economic news.
  • Creating a strategy for developing content.
  • Educating experienced and non-experienced journalists in covering complex business stories clearly.
  • Coordinating activities with station partners and fostering new partnerships.
  • Cultivating diversity in coverage and on the staff.
  • Managing the unit's budget.
  • Recruiting new journalists and producers.
Applicants should have previous experience in economic coverage and posses networks in the finance, economy or business industries. Candidates should also have a background in creating innovative content, managing partnerships, and defining/growing audiences. Experience in broadcast and online media is a plus in applying.
