Reynolds College Custom Newsroom Training

by October 8, 2014

College journalism has never offered more opportunities — or been more difficult. Reynolds is here to lend a hand.

We’ve created College Custom Newsroom Training, an offshoot of our Custom Newsroom Training program for news organizations. Reynolds will put together a program for your staff, based on your particular needs.

We held our first College Custom Newsroom Training in September at Eastern Michigan University, home to The Eastern Echo. Editor Nora Naughton was most interested in teaching her staff how to put together feature stories, which run in the print edition, published two times a week, and on the Echo website.

Here are some topics we can cover:

  • Crafting story ideas
  • The art of social media
  • How to cover a campus beat
  • What editors look for in job candidates
  • Strategies for landing an internship

And many, many more. We have a special fee schedule just for college newsrooms, and we also can provide training via Skype or conference call to keep it super affordable.

If we can help your college newsroom, get in touch with me at micheline.maynard@asu.edu, or call (602) 496-5176.
