Caught in the middle. The Federal Reserve is expected to raise interest rates by a one quarter of one percentage point sometime this year, and liberals and conservatives alike are watching what the central bank does very closely, the New York Times reports. In short, the left wants the Fed to punt an interest rate hike down the road, while the right is cheering on the proposed hike.

Kanye 2020. That’s right … rapper and artist Kanye West announced that he’s running for president in 2020 at last night’s MTV’s Video Music Awards. You can watch the full video of West’s speech over at Fader.

This is cool. A dutch electric train system could run entirely on wind power within three years, Gizmodo writes. Currently, the network carries 1.2 million passengers a day.

Cutting back. Wal-Mart is cutting hours for its employees after it spent $1 billion to raise their wages, Bloomberg writes.  The company increased its minimum wage in April to $9 a hour.
