On May 3, journalists will gather at the Arizona State University’s California Center in Santa Monica, California for a day of interactive training sessions.
The free program is designed for any reporter who wants to improve his or her reporting of business and the economy.
The workshop is scheduled for Thursday, May 3, and will feature veteran data journalist and Cronkite School professor Steve Doig, whose investigative projects at the Miami Herald won several major journalism awards, including the Pulitzer Prize. Doig will present on finding and using data sources to cover business and the economy.
Tom Contiliano, chief of client relations, Bloomberg News, will share hands-on exercises on how to use accounting techniques to understand public filings.
